Moving from Beehiiv to Substack
Follow all the steps in this article to set up your Substack, and move your subscriber list and content: https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/20680312785428-How-do-I-move-from-Beehiiv-to-Substack-
Note that when you move your Beehiiv content, it may not move all of your paywalled content, as that content is not in the RSS feed that is accessible by Substack. Any content that is not moved over must be cut and pasted to your Substack manually.Next, connect your existing Stripe account with the subscriptions in it, to Substack. Do this by clicking on the blue Connect with Stripe button on your Substack Settings page, and making sure that, when it prompts you to connect your Stripe account, you enter the username and password for your existing Stripe account that is currently connected to your Beehiiv account. Do not create a new Stripe account.
The import scanner will start. This can take a half an hour or more. Wait for it to finish and report "there's [whatever number] subscriptions to import". Verify that that number is correct and matches the number of subscriptions you expect to import. You’ll see a button to import them, but don’t click that yet. You’ll want to disconnect from Beehiiv before you connect to Substack, so that your readers don’t get any cancellation email from Beehiiv.
Once you have verified that the number of subscriptions to import looks correct, disconnect the Stripe account from Beehiiv.
Now, click the button to import your paid subscribers to Substack. At this point the email addresses on Substack and the paid subscriptions within Stripe will connect up. Note that this process can take some time to complete.
For users with custom domains only, the final step is to transfer your domain from pointing to Beehiiv to pointing to Substack. This should be done immediately upon completing the above steps. Instructions: https://support.substack.com/hc/en-us/articles/360051222571-How-do-I-set-up-my-custom-domain
